Cryptocurrency Time Series Data

Blocktap goes way beyond OHLVC with robust time series data.

Blocktap's time series data is an extremely powerful addition to our cryptocurrency API. Time series groups events into buckets of time. Events from many different sources can be combined to create a better picture of what happened in that time interval.

Time series data aggregates information into 1m, 2m, 3m, 5m, 10m, 15m, 30m, 1h, 2h, 4h, 6h, 8h, 12h, and 24h increments.


Time series includes standard OHLCV (open, high, low, close, volume) market data plus technical indicators, statistical analysis, and peer-to-peer network statistics for the corresponding cryptocurrency.

Technical indicators

Technical indicators can be used to analyze past price, volume, and momentum trends. The parameters for the technical indicators can be customized to suit your needs. Blocktap currently includes the following technical indicators with plans to add many more.

  • Simple moving average
  • Exponential moving average
  • Relative strength index
  • Moving-average convergence divergence
  • Bollingger bands

Peak/Trough analysis

Time series also includes peak and trough analysis providing you with information about the how the time period compared to the previous peak and trough. Customized reset rules can be used to provider better understanding of trends.

Peer-to-peer statistics

Blocktap also includes peer-to-peer statistic for many of the popular cryptocurrencies. Statistics for each period include current supply, blocks solved, mining difficult, number of transactions, currency moved, mining reward. The following currencies are supported:
